Terms of use

You must be at least 13 years old to use Platealo. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. You are responsible for the activity on your account.

You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You may sign in with email, Google, or Sign in with Apple on iOS. Notify us at hello@platealo.com if you believe your account has been used without permission. We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is unsafe or abusive.

Platealo is a recipe-sharing home. You can publish dishes, follow cooks, save a personal list, and browse recipes on the web and in the phone app. We may change, pause, or discontinue features. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, videos, display name, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You grant Platealo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that User Content as needed to operate and promote the Services. If you delete a recipe or your account, we will stop displaying it, though copies may remain in backups for a limited time.

You represent that you have the rights needed to post your User Content, that it does not infringe someone else’s rights, and that it is not unlawful. Published recipes and your display name are visible to other cooks.

You agree not to:

• Break the law or post content that is illegal, hateful, pornographic, or that exploits children.
• Harass, impersonate, or mislead other cooks.
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Services.
• Scrape, harvest accounts, or use automated means in a way that overloads or abuses Platealo.
• Post recipes or media you do not have the right to share.
• Use the Services to send spam or advertising unrelated to home cooking.

We may remove User Content or suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules were broken.

Platealo, our logos, design, and software are owned by QBON, LLC or our licensors. These Terms do not give you any right to use our trademarks except as needed to identify the Services. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

The Services rely on third parties such as Supabase, Render, Vercel, Google sign-in, and Sign in with Apple. If you download the iOS app, Apple’s App Store terms also apply. If you download the Android app, Google Play’s terms also apply. Those providers’ privacy policies and terms govern their own services. Platealo is not responsible for third-party sites or services we do not control.

Recipes are shared by home cooks for inspiration. They are not professional dietary, medical, or food-safety advice. You cook and eat at your own risk, including checking allergens and safe temperatures. THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that recipes are accurate, complete, or safe for you.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QBON, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US $10) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You will defend and indemnify QBON, LLC and its people against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Services, or your breach of these Terms.

You may stop using Platealo and delete your account at any time in the iOS/Android app (Your plate → Delete account) or in the web kitchen profile. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or if we stop offering the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.

We may update these Terms by posting a new version at https://platealo.com/terms and changing the effective date. If a change is material, we will try to give reasonable notice. Continued use after the update means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and delete your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Florida will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any forum to protect our intellectual property or the Services. If a court finds a part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
